Our Story

O.P. Srivastava is a National Award–winning filmmaker, author, and former banking leader whose work spans the worlds of finance, culture, and storytelling. After a distinguished career in technology-driven banking, he moved into filmmaking to explore narratives that shape society, directing documentaries on environment, identity, and human resilience. His award-winning film Life in Metaphors earned national acclaim and established his reputation as a thoughtful chronicler of Indian culture.

As the founder of Reelism Films and Oorjaa — a platform dedicated to impact cinema — he collaborates with institutions, universities, and global filmmakers to promote meaningful storytelling in the digital age.

A lifelong student of mythology and behavioural science, Srivastava brings a rare blend of analytical depth and narrative insight to his writing. Pillars of Parallel Cinema which is a retrospective of 50 path-breaking Hindi films made between the late 60s and mid-90s, when parallel cinema reigned in India. There is no single reason for selecting these 50 films – the primary criterion was that they were all made without the trappings of mainstream cinema and were driven more by passion than the power of money.
Branding@Mythology reflects his belief that ancient archetypes continue to shape modern brands, cultures, and consumer behaviour. He lives in Mumbai and continues to write, teach, and make films.
